AlexAdjustOriginally from Northern VA, Alex is a graduate from Appalachian State in Creative Writing.  With her Master’s in Education from the University of Virginia and work experience at both U.Va. and UNC Asheville as a career counselor, Alex is happy to blend two of her passions: yoga and career exploration to create Align Yoga and Wellness, offering yoga therapy and career counseling in addition to her weekly yoga classes.

Alex earned her 500 hour Yoga Therapy certification at Asheville Yoga Center, where she also currently teaches. She began practicing yoga during graduate school because she was suffering from chronic migraine headaches due to stress. Years later, she cannot imagine her life without yoga and is grateful for discovering this expansive, amazing practice! She loves to keep her classes light-hearted and fun (it’s yoga after all, right?) with a different mix of music every week (Neil Young fans: she’s obsessed). She strives to keep the practice fresh and creative while also including themes and inspiration for your life off of the mat.

What is Yoga Therapy?
Yoga Therapy is an approachable, healing 1on1 work that can assist anyone dealing with some sort of ailment.  From depression to lower back pain to a specific athletic injury, I will work with you for 1-4 sessions to design a few (3-5) exercises that will work to find the root of the pain.

What is Career Consulting?
I work with clients from resume writing to career exploration to undergraduate and graduate applications to interview prep.  Got questions about your career life?  I can work with you!
